Targeted & Effective on Fungal Nails, Verrucae & More
For certain chronic or more advanced foot and nail conditions such as fungal nails, verrucae, chronic corns, scarring, foot pain, spider veins, etc., standard chiropody procedures sometimes only manage the symptoms rather than treating the cause, and the only other alternative — until now —has been topical or oral treatments that have proved less than ideal in terms of the results achieved or the undesirable side-effects involved. But, with the huge advances in laser technology, our expert team at Forest Hill Practice can now treat these chronic conditions quickly, effectively and, in some cases, painlessly with our state-of the-art S30 PODYLAS™ laser.
- A Fungal Nail (Onychomycosis Laser) Treatment
Fungal nail infections can affect both the hands and feet. Left untreated they can become not only unsightly, but can also cause pain and discomfort. Until recently the only options available were topical or oral medications, which were not only limited in their efficacy, they also caused unwanted and unpleasant side-effects. The S30 PODYLAS™ laser system available at Forest Hill’s expert technicians offers a fast, effective and safe alternative, with visible, fast and pain-free results.
The laser produces a gentle targeted, thermal effect that penetrates the nail bed, killing the bacteria or fungi that cause the infection, without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue. With the ability to treat up to ten digits in as little as 30 minutes with no pain (the worst any of our clients have felt is a small “pricking” sensation) and none of the side-effects, it far surpasses “traditional” fungal nail treatments in terms of speed, comfort or the end result.

Laser Verrucae Therapy
Caused by a virus, verrucae are highly contagious and are usually contracted in public places such as swimming pools, gyms, etc. Some people are more susceptible to the virus than others and this can lead to multiple verrucae or constant re-infection, which can sometimes also involve pain.
Although many over-the-counter topical remedies are available, for serious or chronic verrucae infections, laser therapy provides a more permanent and effective solution. The telltale black mark of verrucae is actually blood vessels, which feed the verrucae and enable them to persist. Unlike topical remedies, the S30 PODYLAS™ laser specifically targets these blood vessels with heat, while causing to damage to the surrounding tissue, to cut off the blood supply that “feeds” the verruca and allows it to survive, resulting in a fast, more permanent solution to the problem.
Laser Treatment for Corns, Lesions & Ulcers
The same process of targeted laser treatment is also highly efficacious in treating other similar conditions such as long-standing or deep corns, ulcerations and lesions on the feet. All of these conditions can cause pain and discomfort and require regular attention with “traditional” treatments. At Forest Hill Practice, we are able to offer a more efficacious and long-lasting solution to these problems with the S30 PODYLAS™ laser by getting to the “root” of the problem. With targeted laser we can penetrate deeper into the tissue, with no damage to the surrounding areas to alleviate the pain and discomfort of these common conditions quickly and comfortably.
